Grace

I was reminded this morning why grace is my favorite word.

Steve Brown was a guest speaker at our church this morning, and this is how he started out the sermon:

"I don't care why you're here, or who you are, what you smoked this morning, or who you hurt. You are here and God forgives you!"

I was feeling a little guilty for only lasting 3 days on my fast from coffee...I started Ash Wednesday and succumbed to an Iced Caramel Frappucino from Starbucks yesterday. But that is only the beginning of my sins.

I know we are sinful by nature, but I am so blessed by the grace of God. We all are! As I repent on Sundays, I am reminded of the grace in my life.

I don't think that it is an accident that I married a man named Michael Grace. That my last name is now Grace. That God brought me to a man who would remind me daily of the grace in my life. It is by the grace of God that I am where I am today...a wife, a mother, an artist, an author, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a teacher, a dancer, a dreamer, a lover of life. These relationships and roles are not always easy, but they are part of who I am... saved by the grace of God.

Amen to that.
I was feeling guilty the other day when I drank a soda after giving it up for lent, as I was beating myself up about it I thought about God and his grace and how if I repented he would forgive me. So I prayed right there and then in the car, the burden was lifted, i was able to go about my day and I haven't even desired a soda since.
Even went and did a big grocery shop today and didn't even go down the soda aisle, much to my kids dismay.
Thanks for such a great uplifting post.

I don't believe in anything - however I think that for those who believe in grace, it's a beautiful thing, and I'm glad you find the beauty in that for you and your life. I liked the guest speakers statement of not caring who we were, where we came from, what we had done - God forgives.
