Family weekend at Sea World

We took a mini-vacay this weekend and headed over to The Renaissance Hotel after work on Friday.
There is something very exciting about staying at a hotel (even if it's only for two nights) that makes everyone excited!  Especially when said hotel has a game room, ping pong, and a jacuzzi.  :)

We got up early the next moring and spent the whole day at Sea World.

We had a blast!
And then back to work yesterday...
I'm hoping I'll have some artsy craftsy things to show you soon!  :)

Some Family Pix

These pictures would be perfect if Carson were in them, but he was away on another trip.

When I was looking through them last night I was filled with such a deep love for my family.  I am so proud of them.  So proud to be Mike's wife, so proud to be these kids Momma.

I know it's corny, but I get carried away so easily with the day to day that sometimes I forget how blessed I am.

I hope you are feeling blessed too...Have a wonderful day.

Anniversary Weekend

This weekend was our wedding anniversary, and we went away by ourselves for the weekend! It was the first time in a few years, so we really enjoyed it.

This is a heart leaf we found on Friday while enjoying a nature trail.

I thought this tree was so beautiful. Hubby sweetly let me know it was red mold, but I still thought it was pretty...:)
We (I) like to take dorky self-portraits...it took us about five tries to get us both in the picture!
We saw a family of deer about half-way through the walk.
We spent the day yesterday at Epcot, where they were showcasing a flower and garden show. It was so gorgeous.
I loved these mosaic walls...
Sooooooo many flowers...made me dream of gardening and the possibility of planting annuals in our yard.
They had a lot of flower sculptures too. The butterfly one was my favorite.
Happy Anniversary to my honey...thanks for a wonderful, relaxing weekend. I love you!

Be Still My Heart...

Ava went on her first date last night, with Daddy. They went to the Daddy-Daughter Dance at our church.
"The influence of a godly man is crucial in the development of a girl's self-esteem, and this relationship will set a pattern for the attributes in men she will seek as an adult. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to set, or reiterate, the standard for how you believe she deserves to be treated, and to let her know that anything less is unacceptable for her as a woman."
Oh, how I wish I could have been a fly on the wall at the dance. :)
My Dad never took me to a dance, but we did spend time together on the weekends going to the library, running errands, and going to the video arcade. I treasure those memories of one-on-one time with him.
I loved all the little details of Ava's outfit...the frilly socks, the matching bows, the beautiful corsage. My husband must have spent over 30 minutes ironing his shirt!:)
Be Still My Heart...
My husband is a great and loving father, and I feel so blessed not only to have him in my life, but grateful that my children are so lucky as well.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Lots to share...

Are you ready for lots of pictures? We've been busy around here at the Grace household...

I don't show many pictures of my step-son on my blog. He is a tad camera shy and would probably kill me for posting this. But he turned twenty this week and we celebrated with a coconut cream pie and the cheesiest candle ever! Can you believe we didn't have any real birthday candles? Anyway, Happy Birthday Carson!!
We dropped off the baby on Sunday at my mother-in-laws and took the kids to play putt-putt. Such a simple thing really, but we had so much fun. The kids love when we go on "special" outings.
Ashton had his own putting style: hit, stop the ball, hit, stop the ball...very amusing.

Logan is the competitive one and kept score the whole time...

He also took lots of pictures. I love that! Now when we look back it will actually look like I was there sometimes. Am I the only Mom that's always behind the lens?

It was such a beautiful day. Chilly for a February day in Florida, but full of clear and bright sunshine!
Now on to an exciting family announcement...
We have had a new member join our family.

Introducing...Henry!
Long story short:
We've been wanting to get the kids a puppy. We met Henry last week because our neighbors were fostering him. Now, my husband is much more of a big-dog person. But I brought him over to visit...
and he hasn't left since:)

We think he is a chihuaha-greyhound mix. He is almost four and completely house and crate trained. He is great with the kids. He has fit perfectly into our family.

And no matter how good of friends we may be, you are not allowed to make fun of his sweater, his snaggle tooth, or his buggy eyes. I happen to think they are quite endearing:)

Last but not least, I have been painting. I can't wait to show you...soon I promise!
Happy Wednesday friends.

Chrissie

Bragging rights

Did I mention that I am in Ohio this whole week on business? We are doing the photo shoot for my new book, and I have been here since Sunday.
When I walked into the hotel, I burst out in tears. A week without my babies? A week without my husband? I am a total homebody and I like to be totally immersed in what all my kids are doing. But after a little cry and a coaching session from hubby I was better. Now I am actually enjoying the week!

Tonite I started editing these photos I took last week. Would you indulge me in some bragging?

I am so proud of this kid. Logan and I have been through some semi-rough patches. You know, normal boy stuff...but enough to keep me worried some days. He is turning out to be such a wonderful young man. He is so funny! A natural athlete, Logan is good at everything he tries. He is very loving too. He is a natural born leader, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for him.
Ashton is our sweetheart. This is a boy born with a heart of gold. He would not, and could not, even hurt a fly. Although he is unaware of it, he is a ladies man. His teachers tell me all the little girls want to play with Ashton. He has a one-track mind...when he gets into something it is very hard to tear him away from it. In Kindergarden, he is already reading very well. You usually don't have to tell him to do something more than once, because his gentle spirit does not want to disappoint anyone!
Oh, Ava. My girl. Our only daughter. Precious and cute, she's got an itty bitty temper when things don't go her way. Ava has wonderful manners...she never forgets to say please, thank you, yes mam, yes sir. She is in the midst of three year old fantasy land. She loves to play pretend. She is a caretaker and likes to take charge of Jackson. This little girl has all her brothers and her daddy wrapped around her little finger.
Baby Jackie. Jackson. Jack-Jack. Jax. Bubba. Googie. Googa-waga. The one-year old with 1,000 names.
This little boy does not miss a beat. He thinks he is one of the big kids. Teeny-tiny sits at the big table and eats with a fork and spoon. The highchair was gone almost 2 months ago. He follows all the big ones around. Goes down the big kids slide at the park. Takes off his diaper when it is wet. He may be 15 months old, but he is the youngest of five and intends to keep up with all of them!
We have been so blessed with all of our children. My step-son Carson is 19 years old, and he is such a wonderful young man too!
Can you tell I'm missing them?:)
I'll be back tomorrow with some pictures of my trip...

Snippets and a Meme

Here are some snippets from our weekend:

new markers for the kids...

lots of coffee...

our cheerleader who has learned to wink...

our new basketball star...
a new mosaic that I started...

lots of swimming...

Celebrating Father's Day with our favorite Daddy...

and missing my Dad terribly... It's my second year without him, and I'm remembering all the good ones...
A very nice weekend all in all:)
*******************************************************************************************************
And on another note~
Adrienne and A Little of a Lot both tagged me to play this meme:
Here's how it works:
* List Six Silly Things That Make You Happy
* Mention and link to the person who tagged you
* Tag six of your favorite bloggers to play along

1. Watching my almost 5 year old read and write constantly. I love finding his notes all over the house.
2. Mango slushies from Sonic.
3. Bagels with cream cheese, sliced avacadoe, and mandarin oranges. (is that wierd?)
4. Fabric scraps
5. chocolate covered gummi bears
6. Portable DVD players in the car that make our car trips very quiet... (is that bad?);)

Blessings,
Chrissie
