I'm playing along with Kimm at Reinvented for Tuesday's Trash to Treasure. Welcome!:)
There are two brand new Goodwill's in my town that have opened up in the last month. They are so nice and clean! I conduct almost all of my retail therapy there!
I found this baby at the Goodwill for 99 cents.
What caught my eye was the frame. I love the detail.
I've never painted mirror before, but I thought I'd give it a try. I used chalkboard paint. Next time I paint on mirror I will leave more time in between coats.
I love how it turned out! However, you can see in the middle where I got hasty with the paint. But where I put it no one will ever notice.

This is my living room. It has a lot of blue and brown, and I like to use red in here as an accent. So that's where I decided to put my new chalkboard.
This is the left side of the room. Do you see the chalkboard on the high shelf above the television?
I wrote out some lyrics from the song "I Hope You'll Dance". It's one of my favorite songs of all time.
Now head on over the The Shabby Nest party she's having to see more frugal finds...
Have a great weekend y'all!

Very cute thrift store rehab! Those are better than buying something brand new, don't you think?
Wow your Good Will is cheap! Ours tends to be a little pricey. Not retail, but still 0.99! That's awesome. I would never have thought to paint a mirror. What a new idea. And, that quote/song is one of my favorites too.
That's super cute! Why can't I do things like that?!
Love a Goodwill store! I make chalkboards out of everything, including trays. Try that next time, they are so cool. Sandpaper works wonders in between coats too. Mine seriously needed sanding!

Very cute!
:)
It turned out so cute! Such a creative use for that. You are lucky to have those new Goodwill stores. Goodwill and Salvation Army Thrift stores are so much fun when you have some spare time.
It looks wonderful! I never knew that you could paint a mirror-thanks for the idea!!
I love the red! Super cute.
BEAUTIFUL!!!! I am SO looking for a mirror to paint on my next shopping spree!!!

WOW! we have used chalkboard paint on wood but had no idea it will work on mirror!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
OMG!
Did you say 99 cents? I am soooooo going to my Goodwill soon. You did an awesome job painting it (as usual:)).
looks great! I love the red against the chalkboard. I did one very similiar, except the mirror was broke so I just chalkboard sparyed the backing. You can see it in my frugal link post, though of course I forgot to mention it in MY post. *slaps forhead*
great idea chrissie...and, for 99 cents?! i may have to stop by goodwill this weekend! :)
Wow, I love the detail on that frame too, I can see why you snatched it up!
I've never tried painting mirror, thanks for the tip, I'll give it a try!
That is terrific! The red really brings out the great detail. Kudos!
Great job! I love that you made it into a chalkboard...very cute! I need to find me a good Goodwill. : )
I've always wondered about painting a mirror with chalkboard paint, but I've been too chicken to try it! Thanks for posting this! You gave me the little nudge I needed.
I love frugal projects like this! It's so fun...great job!

That turned out so nice! You must have an awesome GW. I went to one by me the other day looking for a mirror and they were $35!
Super cute! (Why is my Goodwill smoking crack when it comes to setting their prices?) I can't believe that frame was only $1!
99 cents of greatness. Perfect!
I love it. Next time if you will spray the mirror with Rust-oleum Primer then the blackboard paint you will get a really nice finish.Do a couple of light coats instead of 1 thick coat.
What a great idea. I love it. Now I am going to be hunting for something like that because I have a perfect spot for a chalkboard frame in my new place.
I love your chalk board and what you wrote on it.
Blessings,
Barbara Jean
I love it. I have seen so many cool chalkboard paint ideas, I'm just itchin' to try it!
I love that song too...it looks great where you put it!
