Welcome to my studio!

Hi!  Welcome to my "studio".
About a month ago my two older boys offered to share a room so I could have a space to work in.  I know it won't last forever, because at some point my 11 year old is going to need more privacy, but I figured I would take them up on the offer while it lasted!  ;)

The room is about 10 x 10, so it's not very big.  I wanted a lot of space in the middle, because I tend to work on the floor.  That's how I've always worked...

The lighting in here is wierd, so it was hard to get great pictures.  Sorry about that!
Because the room is not permanent, I didn't want to spend a lot of money in here.  I basically shopped the house and rearranged a lot of things in different rooms.  I did buy two things; the black canvas boxes (from Target)  for the shelf to house all my fabrics and a new ironing board cover.

Here is my old ironing board cover...I think I deserved a new one!

And here is my new one.  I ordered it from this shop.  They were awesome!  I special ordered the fabric I wanted and they did a wonderful job.  I got it very quickly  and their prices are very reasonable.  I'm so happy with it!  It makes ironing fun...hehe

For the first time all of my supplies are in one place!  The only thing I don't have in here are my mosaic supplies.  I left all the stained glass and wood etc. out in the garage.  I have a station for sewing, a station for painting, and a station for packing up orders.  I love feeling so organized!  I save a lot of time too, now that everything has a place.

The fabric bins are organized by color...rainbow color order of course!  I don't normally buy fabric in large quantities.  I buy a lot of fat quarters!  I love scraps.

I'm so visual, so I need a to do list in front of me so I don't get side-tracked.  I don't let myself work on anything until all my custom orders are filled.  I love the chalkboard in here!

My little Sarah Wyman collection...

Some of my favorite craft and sewing books...

I found a new place for my photobooth strips:)

Do you remember when I found this red locker at Goodwill for $2.99?  It houses all the supplies I use for packing and shipping...tape, permanent markers, scissors, etc.

A pile of fabric waiting to be up for a batch of new checkbook covers, and a new product I'm working on...small zippered bags!  :)

Thanks so much for stopping by my little studio.  Most of the time it's a lot messier than this, and there is almost always a little girl who is an artist as well, creating her own messes! ;)

Have a wonderful Wednesday!
xo,
Chrissie

Chrissie everything looks fantastic, I know you love working there with everything together, and it's nice to be able to leave projects you are working on out.

It was so kind and generous of your one son to give up his room, and for two to be willing to share.

I have a feeling they have learned that from you!

Chrissie -
I found your website by searching for the artist who painted the Breast Cancer Inspiration Rocks. I featured those on my breast cancer support group blog last Wordless Wednesday. I was so inspired by them, that I decided to make some for our give-away at the support group this week (I didn't have time to order them). I just finished them, and I love them - I'm going to have to make some more for me. Of course, they aren't nearly as wonderful as yours, because I'm not an artist. ;-)

I read on someone's blog (thedirtyshirt.com) - where they featured your rocks - that it take "faith" and "hope" to "heal" and become a "survivor". It just tied all the words on your rock together.

I love your website - I find it very inspirational. LOVE your prayer flags, I LOVE your weekly scriptural piece of art. You've given me just one more reason to study my scripture more - to find the beauty in the teachings.

Thanks so much!

Take Care,
