Art Party

Welcome to my Open House Art Party. It was this weekend and it is the first time I've ever done anything like this. I do the art show circuit, but with the economy, I was afraid to do any Spring Shows. With entry fees, gas, babysitters...etc., it can get costly. So I decided (with the urging of a good friend:), to do one at my house.

I'm not gonna lie, I was a little nervous. But it turned out to be really fun! When you walked in I had the whole dining room set up with mosaics and mixed-media pieces, including lots of She Said prints.

My living room was set up too. Lots and lots of art!

I made some little goody bags for the guests with all my contact info and some yummy chocolate treats.

Some food and wine set up in the kitchen area...

And some really cute girls!

Yes, that is me in the middle bending over. Can't you tell by my Chrissie Grace Designs shirt;)

It turned out really well. I got to see a lot of old friends and customers, and booked 3 more parties! When I first started selling my art about 10 years ago, I was really shy. I was afraid of promotion and getting my work out there. I still struggle with that a little, but I have really made strides in that area. You have to put yourself out there, and it's not always easy.

Thanks to everyone who came and supported me. It was so good to see you all...:)

xo,

Chrissie

Oh, if only I lived near you. What fabulous pictures. I'm sure it was a success. I'm saving for my next purchase. My goal is to have my office decorated with your stuff by the end of this year.

I would have been there for sure! I love love love your art. Regarding your feelings on "put yourself out there...", I saw some art this weekend and although these words are not original they reminded me of your work and then you echoed it in your statement above... "He gave us wings so we could fly". Congrats on the success. I am going to buy something. I am.

Hi Chrissie,
What a fantastic artist you are. It's really strange that you dropped by my site today as your blog is exactly what I have been looking for. I've been wanting to do some mosaic tile art with my students and what d'ya know? You have a mosaic tile book for sale!
Congratulations on your first open house.
