Birthday Gift for my Mom

I wanted to show you a birthday gift I made for my mom. It would be a nice Christmas gift for some friends, too.
My mother is an ovarian cancer survivor and I found the fat quarter of the aqua ribbon symbol at my local sewing stuido. I found the checkbook tutorial here. It was a very easy and fun pattern!
Nothing like a big fat sparkly posie on your checkbook cover to make writing checks more fun!:)
Happy Birthday Mom!

My friend and I were recently talking about technology, and how integrated it has become to our daily lives. Reading this post makes me think back to that discussion we had, and just how inseparable from electronics we have all become.

I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Ethical concerns aside... I just hope that as technology further advances, the possibility of copying our brains onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's one of the things I really wish I could encounter in my lifetime.
