November 1st

I love this time of the year.
November brings me to a deep sense of gratitude...
I'm so thankful for all that we have...
and I believe this time of introspection prepares our hearts for the gifts that Christmas brings...

I created this Autumn tree as a beautiful reminder to give thanks everyday...

I had to add my Sara Mincy print in the vignette as well.
Sara was one of my first blogging buddies and we traded prints 2 or 3 years ago?
I'd like to search for a nicer frame for it, but I always put it out in November.

We celebrated Halloween last night with a big lasagna dinner with extended family, and a fun time trick-or-treating.

That's Logan there with his best buddy.
Notice anything about his arm?
Yes, he spent Halloween morning at the orthopedic office getting a bright orange cast.
He broke his arm Sunday night riding his dang rip-stick.
I tell you, there's never a dull moment around here!

**********************************************************************************
I've been inspired by new friend Becky to try something new for the month of November.
Every blog post Becky makes a list at the bottom for things that she is thankful for.
I'm going to do it too for the whole month of November...

1.  a safe and fun Halloween for my kids
2.  The opportunity to substitute in my children's elementary school
3.  a washer and dryer that serve me well, every day!
4.  Amazing teachers that care about my children and their education
5.  medical and dental insurance

Have a blessed day, Friends!

Sunday Scripture

Recently I have been struggling with what God has in store for me and what I think I should be doing.
My recent prayer?
That God uses me to serve in the purpose for which I was made.

Sometimes what God would have me do doesn't coincide with how I think things should be going...
Can you relate?
Do you have a hard time listening sometimes do what He is telling you?

Many blessings to you my friends, on this lovely Sunday!  :)

Hope

It's a been a long time, too long, since I've created my weekly scripture piece.
I grabbed a stack of magazines and papers yesterday and just started cutting free form letters.
I'm happy where He took me with it...:)

I just sent it to the printers and 8 x 10 prints are available in the shop.
Remember today (Friday, August 12th) is the last day for the BOGO print sale.

We are ending the week with "Meet-the-Teachers" and trying to get the kids back on a normal bedtime for school on Monday.
We are going to pack the weekend with fun!

New Scripture Piece and Pillow Q and A

I'm happy that I have a new scripture piece to share this week.
I needed to paint and this song has been playing from my ipod all week and I had to make it :)

Of course the watermark will not be printed on the copies.:)
8 x 10 available here
11 x 14 available here
I have some exciting news too.
Some of you ordered prints and/or checkbooks this week and asked if I would consider giving 25% to Davis.
The answer is YES!!, and so...for the rest of the month I will donate 25% of every purchase from my shop to Davis.  :)  Thank you for asking and putting that thought into my heart!

I've had lots of questions about "Pillows for Davis" and I thought I would try to answer them all here for you if you were wondering...

Q:   If I order a pillow, how long will it take to get to me?
A:  Right now, it's looking like 2-3 weeks.
I'm working hard, but I want every pillow to be well made with love.  They take quite a bit of time, and I want everyone to be happy with their orders.  So I appreciate your patience in advance.

Q:  Do I have to use the scripture in your etsy listing?
A:  No, you can pick any scripture or quote that you would like!

Q:  Will you ship outside of the U.S?
A:  Yes, that is not a problem.

Q:  I'd like to order a pillow as a gift.  Will you ship it to the receiver?
A:  Of course!  Please just provide me with their mailing address.

Q:  I'd like to order a print and a pillow.  Do I have to wait 2-3 weeks for the print as well?
A:  No!  Prints are ready to ship, so please just let me know and I will get your print(s) out to you within a couple of days.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
We are still working on our summer fun list...I'll be back soon to share it!

Blessed Sunday

Hi!  I got home from my trip yesterday and have been eating up my family to no end.  I had a great time but I always like to be home with my loved ones.

I worked on this piece of Sunday scripture all week while I was gone.  The original measures 9 x 12 and it took me about 7-8 hours all together to finish it.  I knew when I got home I wanted to hang it up in the house.

I snuck out this afternoon with the kids and made a Goodwill run, just to find a frame for it.
Ta-da!  $2.99 is a price I like!  :)

It had a watercolor in it from 1994... I knew before I went in that I would be buying something to repurpose.  I had burlap and turquoise spray paint on my mind.  :)  It worked out great!

There are 8x10 copies of it available right here if you're interested.
I'm excited for the week.  I have lots to talk about and a lot to show you.
Happy Sunday Friends :)

Chrissie

Sunday Scripture

God gave me this sunset tonite for Valentines Day, to show me how much he loved me :)
Well, he really gave it to all of us, to remind us of his love.

I was thinking of my Dad today.  If he were alive he would have sent me a card in the mail.  He never forgot I was his sweetheart...even as a grown woman he still sent me a sweet little note.    I was missing him and walked out the door to call the kids in for dinner, and this gorgeous sunset was here before me.  I immediately thought that it looked like Heaven.  My Dad smiling down at me.

This and That

**edited to add:  A kind reader graciously informed me that I had spelled Solomon with an "e" instead of an "o".  The print has been fixed and it is spelled correctly now :)  Thanks!

  • I'm a little late with my Sunday scripture this week, but I'm happy with the way it turned out...and it was fun to photograph :)   Kind of an homage to Valentines day too!  It's available here if you're interested.
  • Since I'm on a little shop talk, we figured out last night that most of the shipping prices on my etsy shop are wrong, erring on the side of too high, especially for the prints (8 x 10 prints should ship for $2.50)  Please be patient as I go back in and fix them sometime over the next couple of days.  If you buy something before the shipping is adjusted I will refund you via paypal.
  • All four of my littles have now succumbed to sickness.  Three with the throwing up bug, and one with bronchitis.  I somehow am still healthy, and I'm praying I stay that way!
  • Does anyone else watch Parenthood?   I love that show so much!  It's on tonite!
  • Last but not least in this randomness, one of my all time favorite blogs is hosting a give-away today of one of my prints.  Please head over and enter.  If you haven't been over there yet, be prepared.  You may not be able to leave without reading every blog post she has ever written :)

Chrissie

Wow, I'm early again!

I can't believe I've been able to keep this resolution of mine...  I'll admit it's really the only one I've been consistent with so far.  I have been so inspired to work on my weekly art scriptures that I've really enjoyed every second of it.
I've received quite a few emails this week wondering if I'll be listing my new works for sale.
I've decided I will!  But I need a couple more weeks to get things together.  I'm actually really excited to re-open my etsy shop.  I have some ideas of donating a portion of the profits to a local cause...I'll share more about that with you when I work out all the details.  It's been super fun daydreaming about all the possibilities.

So, until Monday peeps!  Have a Fantastic Weekend!!

Chrissie

Proverbs 24:3-4

I cannot tell you how good it felt to get my paint and glue out yesterday and just create!  I noted earlier that one my goals this year is to make one piece of scriptural art a week for the year.  My intention is to post them on Sundays, but that may not always happen :)

The weather yesterday was just cool enough to set up an outside studio for the day...my pool deck.

I'm so excited about this venture.  It feels good to create again...in His grace.

I'm tardy, but I'm linking up to Lovely Made Lovely Monday.
