Yay! Some new things!

I'm so excited to announce that my brand-new website is up and running.
My neighbor D has a background in graphic design, and she totally was able to create exactly what I had in mind.
It's not 100% complete yet, but I couldn't wait to show you any longer!  I'm so excited about the way it looks.

I'm excited to show you this...

I'm pretty excited about this.  I made it over the weekend...Here it is in Ashton's room...

I used this photo as my guide:

The whole thing is done in free-motion embroidery.

It's made to fit an 11 x 14 frame, and I chose not to put the glass in it since he wanted it on his bookshelf.  If we ever hang it on the wall, I will put the glass back in.

I'm going to offer custom ones in my etsy shop!  If you send me a photo, I can make one for you of your child(ren).  There are so many wonderful scriptures to choose from:

I prayed for this child,
and the Lord has granted me
what I asked of him.
1 Samuel 1:27

The child grew
and became strong in spirit.

**edited to add:  A kind reader graciously informed me that I had spelled Solomon with an "e" instead of an "o".  The print has been fixed and it is spelled correctly now :)  Thanks!

• I'm a little late with my Sunday scripture this week, but I'm happy with the way it turned out...and it was fun to photograph :)   Kind of an homage to Valentines day too!  It's available here if you're interested. 

• Since I'm on a little shop talk, we figured out last night that most of the shipping prices on my etsy shop are wrong, erring on the side of too high, especially for the prints (8 x 10 prints should ship for $2.50)  Please be patient as I go back in and fix them sometime over the next couple of days.  If you buy something before the shipping is adjusted I will refund you via paypal.

• All four of my littles have now succumbed to sickness.  Three with the throwing up bug, and one with bronchitis.  I somehow am still healthy, and I'm praying I stay that way!

• Does anyone else watch Parenthood?   I love that show so much!  It's on tonite!

• Last but not least in this randomness, one of my all time favorite blogs is hosting a give-away today of one of my prints.  Please head over and enter.  If you haven't been over there yet, be prepared.  You may not be able to leave without reading every blog post she has ever written :)

Coming Soon

I'm working on so many new items.  I haven't decided whether to list everything in my etsy shop, or go big and build a new website.  I've got tags and pillow and quilts (oh my!), as well as the card line I've decided to sell on my own.

Life is good.  The creative juices are flowing...:)

My first art for 2010...a toilet.

Yes, my first art piece made for 2010 is a painting with an embroidered toilet.
Ahem.

Q. Why did Tigger look in the toilet?

A. He was looking for Pooh.

This is what happens when you have a lot of little boys in your house that pee standing up.
You actually make art to hang in the bathroom that reminds them to "be considerate" of others who may want to sit.

Remember when I showed you pictures of our re-done bathroom? This higher-end art piece has been added...:)
